Women have always played an important role in our Congregation. Our records indicate that the Congregation was deeply grateful to one of the women for her meticulous records which were so important in its.

The members of Sisterhood were known for their dinners - - many, many dinners - - for large groups. A look at the Sisterhood’s pantry will show rows of tremendous pots, some three-feet high. We wonder how they reached up to stir the contents.

Sisterhood continues the tradition of cooking, and preparing holiday meals for Purim, Chanukah and Shavouth. A very welcome social occasion for our members.

At one time CSI’s Sisterhood had one of the largest memberships in Women’s Branch of the Orthodox Union.

The current memberships continues to serve as an important part of the synagogue, sponsoring varied programs for the entertainment and interest of all.
